The first 12 weeks of pregnancy is very exciting for the new mother to be. Being such a new experience, we’ve put together a list that outlines what to can expect at Women’s Health and Menopause Center for pre-natal care.
First Trimester (1-13 weeks):
Screening labs: to look for a wide variety of health issues that could affect both you and your baby’s health in pregnancy. All mommies receive these tests.
1st Ultrasound: to confirm your due date.
Testing for:
- Risk of Down’s syndrome and other chromosomal conditions (pamphlet will be in your welcome package)
- Risk of Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Cystic Fibrosis, Neural Tube Defects (pamphlet will be in your welcome package)
- Genetic diseases common in the Ashkenazi Jewish population (please ask for pamphlet)
